About Sebago Lake Automotive

In1920, Sebago Lake Garage was started by Victor  A Woodbrey Sr in Sebago Lake Village to serve the transportation needs of the region.  We became a  sub agency for the Chevrolet dealer located in Westbrook in1928. From 1928 to 2009 the Woodbrey Family sold and serviced Chevrotlet vehicles. The operation in Standish included school buses providing services to the town. During World War II the company owned and operated the The Sebago Lake Defense Bus Line which transported men from places as far as Fryeburg to South Portland where 30,000 men built Liberty ships for the Navy.

Victor's  son, Herbert, began selling cars in 1948 and became  the president in 1949. In December of 1984 the operation moved to Windham. By this time Herbert's sons Brad and Mitchell had  come into the business.

In 2009 the Woodbrey family parted company with the Chevrolet franchise and the name was change to Sebago Lake Automotive.  Today, under the management of Herb's son's Brad and Mitchell the Sebago Lake Automotive brand continues. The operations include the sales of late model used vehicles. full service automotive repair, state vehicle inspection, a significant  AC Delco wholesale parts operation serving the needs of local repair businesses, and U-Haul Services.
